CARRBORO, NC – The Town of Carrboro is pleased to announce that it has launched a website redesign that streamlines the homepage with commonly accessed pages, useable and relevant features, and improves accessibility for all users.
The website at www.carrboronc.gov just underwent a redesign process by CivicPlus, the Town’s government website provider.
The website now has improved functionality as well as a cleaner, easier layout to navigate. In addition to the primary government website, the Town of Carrboro offers an engagement platform at https://engage.carrboronc.gov/ ;
“A modern, mobile-friendly, and intuitive site enables faster access to services, reduces administrative costs, and meets the high expectations of our residents for online interaction,” said Town Manager Patrice Toney. “Our efforts at modernizing online platforms are essential for fostering trust, ensuring legal compliance, and improving operational efficiency.”
Residents and their local government will be able to access more information and more easily through some of the new featured modules:
- Improved calendar function that makes it easy to toggle between meetings and events
- Government area now features links to Town Pillars: Race and Equity and Climate Action
- Streamlines commonly accessed links under main categories including a new Projects area to provide status updates on town initiatives and improvements underway
- Provides prominent Translation function
- Includes a regular video feature
- Adds social media content to the homepage
- Complies with ADA standards for accessibility with more features to be added soon
With the new website, the Town of Carrboro will increase its community engagement and enhance the communication between residents and local government.
The website redesign was led by the Communication and Engagement Department. working closely with the Town Communications Team with representatives from across all departments and service areas.
