Following the winter storm, solid waste collection is planned to proceed on Wednesday, Jan. 28, although some delays may occur, reports the Carrboro Public Works Department.
- Sidewalk Safety: Public Works crews are continuing their work to clear and treat sidewalks throughout the downtown area. Community members may see crews returning to certain areas as temperatures fluctuate and surfaces refreeze. Please use caution as sidewalks may be slippery if untreated.
- Residential Waste Collection: Collection is planned to proceed as normal on Wednesday. Some delays may occur in areas where snow covered or narrowed roadways make access difficult for collection trucks.
- Dumpster Collection: Crews are out today working to service dumpsters where conditions allow. Certain locations may experience collection delays, including some apartment complexes, where snow and ice have made entry unsafe for waste collection vehicles.
Thank you for your patience as crews work through challenging winter conditions. If service is delayed, teams will return as soon as it is safe to do so.
