CARRBORO, NC -- The Carrboro Police Department has charged and arrested Matthew Harr, 32, of Hillsborough, with Felony Hit and Run in connection with a fatal collision that occurred on April 15, 2024, at approximately 1:47 a.m.
Responding officers located Zachary Peeples, 29, at the scene of the collision at 602 Jones Ferry Road. Peeples was transported to UNC Hospital, where he later died.
The vehicle involved in the traffic collision initially fled the scene. Through an investigation, Carrboro Police Department investigators were able to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the collision. Harr is currently being held in the Orange County Detention Center with no bond.
