I believe the goal of an elected representative in her political work is to improve the quality of living for people. I serve to ensure and improve the quality of life in Carrboro, to give back to the people and community I love.

BIO
Council Member Randee Haven-O’Donnell was born in New York City. She and Gerry O’Donnell moved to Carrboro, NC in 1978. They have an adult son, Aran. Randee is a graduate of Stony Brook University and holds a master’s degree from Bank Street College of Education. Randee taught in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
In 1990, she was awarded Orange County and North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation Teacher of the Year. Randee is a diversity trainer and curriculum writer. She is a science educator at Durham Academy and the Academic Director of Duke Action Science Camp for Young Women. Randee is a Leadership Triangle alumna in addition to having served as Board Secretary.
After serving on the Carrboro Planning Board and other municipal Advisory Boards, Randee was elected and began serving on the Board of Alderman in 2005. Randee is a board liaison to the Town of Carrboro’s Economic Sustainability Commission, Environmental Advisory Board, Greenway Commission, Day Laborers Task Force, Energy and Sustainability Taskforce, Farmers Market Community Advisory Committee. Randee has also represented Carrboro on Orange County boards; Library Task Force, Economic Development Commission, Climate Change Commission, the Human Relations Commission and will serve on the up coming Solid Waste Advisory Group.
