Carrboro Music Festival Parking

The 26th Annual Carrboro Music Festival is scheduled to take place at venues all over the Downtown Carrboro area on Sunday, October 1st.  Each year, the Festival draws a large number of attendees.  Please consider alternative modes of transportation when accessing the event.

ALTERNATIVE MODES OF TRANSPORTATION

WALK

If you live nearby, please consider walking to/from the event.  Almost all of the venues are connected via the Town’s network of sidewalks and bikeways.

BIKE

As a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community, the Town of Carrboro encourages Festival attendees to bike if possible.  The following links indicate bikeways maps to access the Downtown area:

CARPOOL

If you access the Festival via automobile, please consider carpooling. (See parking information below.)

FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE

The Town of Carrboro has partnered with Chapel Hill Transit to provide a free shuttle for festival-goers.  The shuttle will run on Sunday from 12:00pm-9:00pm from the Jones Ferry Rd. Park & Ride Lot, located just south of the intersection of Old Fayetteville Rd. and Jones Ferry Rd., across from the entrance to Poplar Place Apartment Homes and beside University Lake Rd.

Shuttle service will run approximately every 15-20 minutes and drop-off locations exist near most of the music venues.

All Chapel Hill Transit vehicles are handicapped accessible.

ACCESSING THE FESTIVAL VIA AUTOMOBILE

Due to the size and nature of this Festival, some parking in the Downtown area is set aside for Festival Performer/Musician parking.  We try and be accommodating for our performers and for their equipment loading/unloading as close to their performance venues as possible.

Performer Parking Only

The following public parking lots will be reserved on Sunday for performers with a valid 2023 Carrboro Music Festival Parking Pass Only:

Public Parking Lot @ the corner of Main St. and E. Roberson St. (beside Armadillo Grill)

Public Parking Lot @ the corner of W. Weaver St. and N. Greensboro St. (across from Century Center)

Several other public and private lots around the Downtown area will have some spaces marked for Performer Parking Only.  Please respect the signage and display your valid performer parking permit.  The Festival Coordinator has instructed performers on the availability of lots and where they should park.

** Note: Disability Parking will be allowed for patrons with valid Disability Parking Placard/Plate

Public Event Parking

Festival attendees accessing the Music Festival via automobile should utilize the Jones Ferry Rd. Park & Ride Lot. On-Street Parking on Fidelity St.
East Main St. Lot (located between E. Main St. and Roberson St. behind the 100 block of E. Main)
Rosemary St. Lot (604 Rosemary St.)

Private Parking

We ask that all festival-goers be respectful of private commercial and residential parking rules.  Please do not park in undesignated areas or block access to businesses or residences.  For private venues, please check with the venue on information about parking.

NO FESTIVAL PARKING will be allowed in the following lots:

Carr Mill Mall Parking Lots
East Main Square (300 East Main St.) Surface Parking Lots
All other areas with designated signage and not otherwise mentioned in the above public festival parking section

ISA-Disability Access

Public Event Parking – Disability Parking

Parking for people with disabilities will be accessible during the Music Festival in both public lots and where designated disability parking signs already exist in lots that may be designated “Performer Parking Only”.  To access these lots, vehicles must display a valid Disability Parking Placard or Plate.

Additional parking for people with disabilities has been set aside in the Town Hall Parking Lot (301 W. Main St.), accessed off of Bim St. and located in the portion of the parking lot behind the Fire Department.
